What the add-in does locally

All calculations and document processing happen locally in your Word client.

We do not collect analytics, usage telemetry, or content of your documents.

What leaves your device

License validation only. When you enter or use a Pro license, the add-in sends your license key to our payment/licensing provider Lemon Squeezy to check if it’s valid and active.

As with any HTTPS request, network metadata such as IP address, date/time, and user agent are processed by the receiving service to deliver the response and for security/logging.

Purpose and legal basis

Purpose: verify licenses; prevent fraud; provide Pro functionality you requested.

Legal basis: performance of a contract and legitimate interests (licensing and security).

Recipients / processors

Lemon Squeezy, Inc. (licensing & payments). They may use sub-processors (e.g., CDN/DDoS protection) to deliver the service securely. See their privacy notice for details.

We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

International transfers

License validation requests may be processed outside Switzerland/EU/EEA (e.g., in the United States). Transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses implemented by our processor.

Retention

MFis GmbH does not store your license key or personal data on our servers for the add-in’s core functionality.

Lemon Squeezy may retain minimal logs or records as described in their own policy (for security, fraud prevention, and compliance).

Your rights

Subject to applicable law (Swiss FADP/GDPR, where applicable), you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and port your personal data. You may also lodge a complaint with your local authority (e.g., the Swiss FDPIC / an EU supervisory authority).

Children

The add-in is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly process children’s data.

Security

All external communications use HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
